Right-wing commentator releases an anti-vaccine video series

The source of the misinformation is a prominent figure with a large audience, hence the elevated risk. Misinformation about the HPV vaccine has circulated since its approval in 2006 but has recently been promoted by several high-profile anti-vaccine figures. Debunking messaging may emphasize that HPV vaccines are one of only two vaccines that protect against cancer, including of the cervix, anus, and throat. Recent large-scale studies have shown that cervical cancer rates have decreased significantly among vaccinated women. In fact, several countries are on track to eliminate cervical cancer thanks to HPV vaccines. Messaging may also explain that, in the 17 years since the HPV vaccine’s approval, no serious safety concerns have been reported.
