Oncologist falsely claims COVID-19 vaccines are accelerating cancers

Medium Impact
Misinformation

A U.K. oncologist falsely claimed that, based on his observations, COVID-19 vaccines are causing accelerated forms of cancers. There is no evidence to back up these claims.

The persistence of the false claim that COVID-19 vaccines cause or accelerate cancers increases its risk. Messaging may emphasize that there is considerable evidence that COVID-19 vaccines are not linked to an increase in cancer rates, progression, or deaths. Messaging may also highlight that the oncologist previously made similar claims, also without any evidence beyond anecdotes.
