PHCC is launching a new resource designed specifically for communications staff at public health agencies: Overcoming Challenges & Leveraging Strengths: An Action Guide for Communicators at Public Health Agencies.
This live launch webinar will introduce the new Action Guide and provide a practical walkthrough of how to use it. Built from 50 in-depth interviews with governmental public health communicators across the country, the guide reflects what communicators themselves say shapes their effectiveness — what works, what doesn’t, and how they navigate real-world constraints.
During the webinar, we’ll walk through how the Action Guide is structured, how to decide where to start, and how to use individual chapters and their accompanying worksheets to identify realistic next steps.
The session will also feature perspectives from communications leaders at North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and Public Health – Seattle & King County, who will share how these challenges show up in practice and how they approach them in their own work.
This webinar is designed for busy communications staff. You do not need to read the guide in advance, and you do not need to tackle everything at once.
Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how to use the Action Guide and worksheets to support their communications work right away.
